5 Stars Awarded to the Jewish Home

Christine M. Vitale, CNHA, FACHCA, Administrator of the Fall River Jewish Home, a rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility, announced that the Home has received a five-star rating for Overall Quality and Quality Measures by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. This appears on the official U.S. government site for Medicare [medicare.gov].

Administrator Vitale said "The Board of Trustees and I are so proud of the efforts of our staff which enabled us to attain this goal, and we are currently the only facility in Fall River to have this rating."

According to the Medicare.gov website, this rating system is based on continued efforts due to OBRA '87, a nursing home reform law, and more recent quality improvement campaigns. It is based on health inspections, staffing and quality measures. While this system is useful to help consumers compare nursing homes, it is not a substitute for visiting facilities before making such an important decision.
